VINCENT VAN GOGH is the Netherlands’ most famous artist. You’re sure to have seen a painting by him somewhere before. Vincent travelled through various countries in Europe – on foot, by boat and, above all, by train. Everywhere he went, he wrote letters, as that was how he stayed in touch with his family. Vincent used the world around him as the subject for hundreds of drawings and paintings. And back in his day, that world looked very different from ours.
